Under Armour works great in both winter and summer (obviously the winter version in winter to stay warm and the summer version in summer to help you stay cooler).

You might also consider investing in a riding suit that you wear over your street clothes.

YES!
Everything Dace says and if those are not in your budget...well then, just layer your clothes so you can strip accordingly!

Carolyn and I use our FroggToggs Rain Suits for cold weather protection and they work wonders. We used them two summers ago and this last summer while riding all over Colorado. We were in every type of weather condition you can imagine outside of a tornado, and we were comfortable for many miles.

Here is the website, http://www.froggtoggs.com/, they sell these rain suits at various places around town but we could never find our size so we ordered the online.

For now a nice rain suit will keep you warm during the winter and dry in the summer...monsoons that is, should you be caught in a storm...God Forbid... Shocked Wink Then you can save for the Armor that Dace is speaking of. And the Armor that is out there now is really neat! But pricey!

Actually, I was referring to UnderArmour athletic wear as opposed to Bohn UnderArmor.

Although both are nice. The former is great for both hot and cold weather, the latter is great for any crashing that may happen.....

Yes but.. I happen to know Candice already has chest armor and armor in her jacket. So wearing another rain gear layer over her existing armor would be the least inexpensive protection for now.

Candice,
Maybe you can call around to the various sports store, Sportsmans Warehouse, Dick's Sports, REI at the Tucson Mall...if it is opened, and see if they carry FT's and ask them to see if they have Mediums and Large sizes in the store. This way you don't have to fight this holiday traffic and fight for parking...etc. Expect to pay 50 to 60 bucks for the Jacket and pants. You will really like the protect they give.

Also, Is your phone # a 520 area code?...
